Our 20th annual Shenendehowa Jazz Festival is on Thursday, April 18 at 6:30pm in the HSE Auditorium and will feature all Middle and High School Jazz groups performing alongside world renowned saxophonist, Dr. Jimmy Greene! We hope to see you there!

Shen Physical Education teachers had the privilege of teaching at a P.E. Conference for the local Capital Zone NYS AHPERD conference.
Athletes and Coaches from the Special Olympics Bronze Medal FloorBall team visited our Middle School Unified PE class.
Will it fit? Rock Travis’ grade 8, tri-building DDE class helped out with Nicole Saville’s and Tara Fear’s Future Ready Furniture Grant. The students were given room and furniture dimensions and used Autodesk Fusion 360, Google Docs and the laser engraver to create “to scale models” of the classrooms.
Mr. Szeli’s 2nd graders at Chango were able to join a google meet with one of their classmates who was traveling with their family in South Africa. While asking them questions, they were even able to see elephants in the background!

4th Graders observed artifacts and referenced 17th century paintings at the Skano Library Dutch Museum to learn more about Fort Orange.

Students from across the community participated in the Battle of the Books which is sponsored by the Shen Librarians and the Friends of the Library. The Golden Emerald Tigers from the CP-HPL reigned victorious!

The Arongen Kindness and Compassion Club collected over 7,000 snacks during their “100 Day of School Snack Challenge”. These snacks will go to the Arongen Backpack program!
Koda NJHS members were at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery picking up Wreaths as part of Wreaths Across America – it was an honor for the kids to be part of this wonderful program!

Congratulations to the Orenda Odyssey of the Mind team that came in first place at the 2024 Regional Tournament! The team succeeded at creatively solving a very challenging problem that impressed the judges and entertained the audience.
The Gowana Library and the Art Department teamed up to celebrate the Year of the Dragon through art. Students created dragons, which are the most popular mythological creatures in literature, to be hung in the Gowana Library.
